Bath Towel Protocol, as explained by our always helpful audience

A listener asked for our help, so we asked you how often to use a towel before laundering it and whether or not you should share a towel with a family member.  You people are hilarious.

A listener writes:

Dear Storm & Chris,

My husband and I listen to you guys every morning.  We love hearing you and other listeners give advice.  So now we want to resolve a dispute that has plagued our 10 year marriage.  We were listening to everyone discuss how often you should change your bed sheets.  But we have another kind of similar argument.  My husband will use a bath towel until it walks to the washer by itself (he says this is an exaggeration, but believe me, it isn’t).  I like to wash towels every time I use them.  To me, it just makes sense.  When you dry off after a shower, what comes off besides water?  Not to be gross, but the fact is, you shed skin, too.  And excuse me, but I don’t really want to keep using a towel that’s full of dead skin.  My husband has always said I am crazy.  And another thing, which I think is really icky.  He thinks it’s okay to share towels.  I love my husband.  But I would NEVER use a towel after someone else.  He says we’re married, so why shouldn’t we?  But I just can’t.  Gross!  So how many times should you use a towel before washing it?  And does everyone share towels and I’m as crazy as he says?  What are the rules?

Signed,

Mrs. Crazy and Mr. Disgusting

Take 911 off your speed dial, dummy.

*SIGH*  It was the first day of burglary school for a 13 year old career-criminal-wannabe.  Things didn’t really work out for him…..

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Police say two Florida teenagers are facing charges after 911 dispatchers heard them talking about breaking into cars when one teen’s cell phone accidentally called 911 during a heist. Daytona Beach police say 19-year-old Stefanie Vargas and a 13-year-old boy are charged with burglary to a conveyance.

Police spokesman Jimmie Flynt says dispatchers listened as the pair discussed what was worth taking while rummaging though a vehicle parked near a Daytona Beach nightclub early Sunday.

Officers went to the area and spotted the boy inside a vehicle. A police report says the pair tried to flee in a sport utility vehicle driven by Vargas. The report says both admitted to the robbery.

A couple of surprises, a couple not so much surprises….

Ahhh, it’s he first round of eliminations, peeps.  After so many lackluster performances this week, it was kind of hard to predict who America will decide to send back to oblivion.  But here are your results….

A five-month online TRIVIAL PURSUIT game settles question of who’s smarter than whom

men v women

It was a fight to the finish, but the women have done it. They’ve beat men in the ultimate battle of the sexes – an online game of TRIVIAL PURSUIT. Over the past five months the balance of power shifted a number of times as men and women from around the world have been supporting their team at www.trivialpursuitexperiment.com, with the ultimate bragging rights at stake.

Since the game started in October 2009, a staggering 15,121,731 questions have been asked and answered (although not all correctly). The global game ended with the women clinching the title after correctly answering a total of 4,088,139 questions, compared to the men’s 4,077,596 correct answers. For the trivial minded — it would take an individual more than 3,500 non-stop days or 9 years, 215 days, 8 hours and 24 minutes to answer the same number of questions.

Congratulations to Cheryl Vidair, our Woman of the Week!

Cheryl’s husband, Richard, nominated her.  Here’s what Richard told us about Cheryl:

Dear Storm & Chris:

I have long looked for a way to express my appreciation for the amazing woman my wife is, and I thank you for the opportunity to do so. No matter what the situation, she cares for the needs of others above herself. She always provides meals for those who need help, even though on a very tight budget. She opens the house to teens who need a place to stay, caring for them as if they were her own children. Cheryl recently lost her job as a private elderly caregiver, when the woman she was caring for passed away. Near the end, she was caring for her over 54 hours a week and still managed to keep a tidy home, take care of herself, race walk with her 18 year old daughter, walk the dog, and then cook meals at the end of a long day, as she is serenaded by our 15 year old drummer banging away loudly with only a thin door separating the drums from the kitchen. And this is while making sure that all of our kids get to places they have to be, sometimes driving 100 miles a day to do so. What amazes me most is that without her elderly lady to care for anymore, she spends so much of her time taking care of the needs of others, often going far out of her way to do so, while still looking for another job. And my favorite trait of Cheryl is that she is always encouraging, never complaining and always looking at the bright side of life during struggling times. She is a true gem!
