I LOVE THESE!  Personality test based on unscientific logic about everyday items…..but are they true?  Let’s review the your cell phone ring tine and see what it reveals about you (or not)!

  • Vibrate — You are über-responsible and considerate, concerned above all else that your personal calls not bother anyone. Thank you.
  • Standard ring — You’re showing your age and your inability to master technology. What? You don’t know how to change the ringtone?
  • Classic rock song — When it comes to looking old, this isn’t much better than the standard ring that comes with the phone.
  • “Jingle Bells” — If it’s December, you get points for being current with the season. If it’s June, you’re lazy and indolent.
  • Disco beat — It makes you look as dated as those gold chains and that white suit hanging in the back of your closet.
  • Hip-hop or R&B — You’re young, cool and enjoy annoying the old folks so you may delay answering your phone just to let that song annoy them a little longer.
  • Classical music — You must be a genius.
  • Country music — You’re as American as Mom and apple pie.
  • Jazz — You’re independent and strong-willed.
  • TV theme song — You didn’t graduate, did you?
  • Animal noises — You think you’re hilarious. Others think you’re bothersome.
  • Your own voice — You are so conceited and pompous.
  • You change your ringtone a lot — You are fickle, capricious and undependable. Either that or you get bored easily.

Have a wonderful day!~Chris

Yoga can help!

Ten to 15% of Americans suffer from chronic insomnia, defined as the inability to get to sleep or stay asleep, or the inability to get refreshing sleep.

Sleep medications are notoriously ineffective or cause dangerous side effects and dependency. Psychological therapies, much research reports, are as effective in the short term and more effective in the long run than hypnotic medications.

Unfortunately, there are few providers of the cognitive behavioral therapies that have shown to help treat insomnia.

The good news is that there is hope that alternative, non-pharmacologic approaches can improve sleep and daytime function. The term that we use for non-traditional, often non-Western approaches to healing is CAM, complementary and alternative medicine.

Teens who use Facebook, social media may suffer from new condition

Teens who frequently use Facebook have more to worry about than lost homework time.

A new condition dubbed “Facebook depression” may affect teenagers who spend a significant amount of time on the social-networking site, researchers warned in the latest issue of Pediatrics Journal.

The problem, researchers found, was that the popular website’s constant feed of status, picture and message updates gave users a skewed view of reality, which could make vulnerable kids feel like they aren’t good enough.

Facebook, according to the study, can create a false reality because people normally post the best sides of themselves, or at least not the full story.

Glad we finally got some rain and I hope is washes some of this pollen out of the air.  It is easy to think your eyes are itchy and dry because of the pollen but actually it may be due to staring at your computer screen all day.  How do you releave eye strain?  Simple, The “one-word answer” blink. “When you stare at a monitor, your blink rate drops to 20 per minute to 7, and that dries out your eyes,” says Kimberly Cockerham, M.D. So think “blink,” and if your orbs are still arid, try preservative free eyedrops. And to relieve fatigue, obey the 20-20-20 monitor rule: Look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.

14 Ways to Save Money on Groceries

  1. A bay leaf slipped into a container of flour, pasta, or rice will help repel bugs.
  2. Stop cheese from drying out by spreading butter or margarine on the cut sides to seal in moisture. This is most effective with hard cheeses sealed in wax.
  3. When radishes, celery, or carrots have lost their crunch, simply pop them in a bowl of iced water along with a slice of raw potato and watch the limp vegetables freshen up right before your eyes.

Abercrombie criticized for selling push-up tops to little girls

No stranger to controversy, U.S. retailer Abercrombie & Fitch has come under fire for offering a push-up bikini top to young girls.

Its “Ashley” bikini — described as “padded” and a “push-up” — was posted on the Abercrombie Kids website earlier this week.

The company declined to comment Saturday but noted it has since updated the description of its bikini online.

The product is now being offered as a padded, “striped triangle.” Bottoms are sold separately.
