A Michigan bride’s wedding celebrations came to an unexpected halt on Saturday, when she was arrested on a felony warrant after walking down the aisle.

Tammy Lee Hinton, who had just exchanged vows at a Jackson-area church, declined to change clothes before posing for her booking photo.

The blushing 53-year-old bride was wanted on a three-year-old warrant for identity theft; it is believed she attended the wedding reception after a brief jail stint.

Police said a New Jersey woman who discovered an intruder in her home told them the man said he had “meant to break into” a different house.

Maria Cardona, 39, of Vineland said she returned home after noon Monday and discovered a man had entered her house by cutting through the screen of a back door.

SPRING HILL — Authorities say a man who claimed he was robbed and stabbed Tuesday made up the story — and in fact stabbed himself — to justify missing his court date and avoid paying back child support.

Michael Cherubino, 51, of 5464 Birchwood Road in Spring Hill had told deputies two men attacked him at his home, stabbed him in the stomach and stole about $4,000 before fleeing in a “beat up” white pickup.

DELMAR, Md.- A man staying at a Delmar motel who loudly admitted during a telephone conversation that he was wanted by authorities ended up in custody early Tuesday after other patrons staying in adjacent rooms overheard his unwitting confession and notified police, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials are investigating a weekend incident during which a man indicated his wife fired an AR-15 rifle at a target inside a master bedroom closet, missing the target and blasting holes in a washing machine.

When deputies on Sunday entered the home in the 5700 block of Spanish River Road, they found “a lot of water on the floor covering most of the residence,” according to recently released St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office records.

The 21-year-old woman said she and her husband are divorcing. She said her 33-year-old spouse called on Saturday, asking whether they could “get together.”

They had a “good evening,” but started arguing on Sunday about reconciling. She said she told her husband she didn’t want to get back together because she has a new boyfriend. She said her husband “went crazy” and started shooting indoors.

She said he was firing close to her and thought he was trying to scare her. She said blood on her legs came from “the bullets hitting the washing machine and the metal shards hitting her.”

The woman, however, said she also was shooting with her husband.

Asked to write a sworn statement, she said, “I’ll try my best but I’m drunk.”

They took him to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for some superficial wounds to his head. But things just didn’t seem to add up (e.g. why would two violent criminals want to attend Oprah’s Farewell Spectacular?), and after questioning the victim further, the cops suddenly had an Aha!™ Moment: Spearing had no tickets to Oprah’s Farewell Spectacular. He never did! And he had no idea what he was going to tell his wife. So he made up the mugging story.

SEATTLE, May 14 (UPI) — Seattle police said a nervous and near-sighted burglar was foiled when he dropped his glasses.

The 36-year-old man was trying to open a window at a home in the Magnolia neighborhood early Friday morning, Seattlepi.com reported. After he lost his glasses, a dog began barking and he took off.

The residents called 911. The burglar came back, ringing the doorbell, asking for his glasses and again leaving empty-handed.

A suspect was arrested nearby, hiding in the bushes.

GARRISONVILLE, Va., April 28 (UPI) — Authorities in Virginia said a man in a cow suit stole 26 gallons of milk from a Walmart and handed the jugs to passersby outside.

Stafford County sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said the man stole the milk from the Walmart in Garrisonville about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, the Manassas News and Messenger reported Thursday.

A Murrysville man texted a former high school friend to find out if he was at work before burglarizing his home, police said.

James Z. Hill, 31, used the scam to steal some jewelry from the victim, and he may have used the same approach to burglarize the homes of at least two other former Franklin Regional High School classmates, Murrysville Police Det. John Devlin said.

Mr. Hill was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and theft in the case that began sometime around 11 a.m. April 4, when a friend of the victim happened to be driving by the victim’s home in Murrysville.

KEY HAVEN, Fla., April 7 (UPI) — Authorities in the Florida Keys said they arrested an 18-year-old burglar who posted “crime pays” to his Facebook page.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said a husband and wife who are both Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reported their Department of Homeland Security vehicles had been burglarized late March 16 or early March 17 and the culprit took a digital camera from one car and a badge, gun belt, handcuffs, baton, pepper spray, bullet proof vest and a wallet from the other.

Investigators said they found a credit card from the stolen wallet was used for a March 17 PayPal transaction and they traced the computer used to make the payment to the Key Haven home where Ryan Tomita, 18, lives with his parents.

Detectives said they checked Tomita’s Facebook page and found a posting from March 17 reading, “If you ask me Ima tell you crime pays.”
