Madonna and her daughter Lourdes have tapped Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen as the face of their new clothing line, Material Girl. The first ad appeared online this week featuring Momsen, who’s currently on tour with her band the Pretty Reckless.

American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox is happy to be on tour this summer with the other finalists, but now she has another reason to smile. Bowersox got her teeth straightened and whitened. The 24-year-old singer also fixed her gap-toothed grin, tweeting, “whats NOT missing in this picture?????? Yeah. That’s right.”

Singing the Star Spangled Banner isn’t always an easy task, and when Anita Baker was put to the challenge at Game Four of NBA Finals last week, she faced some criticism for her performance. Now John Mayer has taken to his blog to defend Baker, explaining, “I feel badly that Anita Baker is taking flak for her performance of the Star Spangled Banner at game 4 of the NBA Finals. That song is technically one of the most difficult songs to do justice to, and it’s almost always performed in high-anxiety situations. I know Francis Scott Key is known as the song’s composer but I have reason to believe it was actually written by an evil Texas Instruments graphing calculator.”

Taylor Swift has a new iPhone application coming out this month that features its own form of karaoke. The app, called “Mix Me In2,” lets you sing along with her band to the songs “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me.” Simply put — you can mute her vocals and record your own on top of the full band. You can also remove or change instruments. More Swift songs will be released after the app debuts on June 20th. After recording your versions, there will be an option for you to upload them directly to Swift’s website.

Sheryl Crow Adopts Another Boy!

Sheryl Crow is expanding her family — she’s adopting another boy. The 48-year-old singer announced the news on her website, revealing, “I have some exciting news to share with you guys. Wyatt has a new little brother!” Her son, Levi James, was born April 30th. Crow’s other adopted son, Wyatt, is 3 years old.

Taylor Swift is the newest face of CoverGirl. The country star joins the ranks of A-listers like Drew Barrymore, Rihanna, Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres, who have all served as representatives for the popular cosmetics line.

Swift said in a statement, “I am so excited to become the next CoverGirl. I have admired many of the CoverGirls since I was a little girl . . . great artists and actresses who are confident and still themselves. It’s like a dream come true to be a part of the future of CoverGirl.”

Taylor Toon!

Taylor Swift is a regular fixture in the music history books, but now she’s going to be featured in another book — a comic book, in fact. The superstar will be featured in a 32-page book set for release in July as part of Bluewater Comics’ Fame book. The story dates back to Taylor’s early beginnings as a songwriter at age 10, and follows her meteoric rise to the top. It also depicts her personal life, including Taylor’s well-documented break up with Jonas Brothers star Joe Jonas.

Other celebs who have gotten the Fame comic treatment include Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Lady Gaga.

You Oughta Know- She’s Back!

I know, when you think ‘Disney‘, the first celeb tie-in that comes to mind is not- Alanis Morissette.

But, Alanis is back, and you’ll be hearing her on a new Disney soundtrack!

Alanis Morissette returns this month with a new song. The track, called “I Remain,” will appear in the upcoming Disney film Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time. According to Spinner.com, Morissette wrote the song about the movie’s princess character, portrayed by Gemma Arterton. She says, “It’s an honor to write from the voice of an empowered princess about a love that empowers them both to new heights, healing and consciousness. The song wrote itself and this story was the ultimate muse.”

The movie, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Ben Kingsley, opens on May 28th.
In 2005, Morissette contributed the song “Wunderkind” to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.
