We grieve for the countless victims of the Haiti earthquake.  Here are a few ways you can help.

You can make an unrestricted donation to the International Response Fund at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767). The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. Funds will go to support American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

Doctors Without Borders has staff treating victims in Haiti.  They report there are no functioning hospitals at this time.  They are asking for donations.

Catholic Relief Services has staff in Haiti and is organizing a massive assistance effort.

Oxfam America is on the ground in Haiti and seeking donations.

Partners in Health is also assisting and seeking donations.

Thanks to our Fantastic Jammie Czars!  It’s the Storm & Chris Warm & Fuzzy Holiday Jammie Drive!

Jammie Drive Update

We still need your jammie donations!  We can hardly move in our office because we’re awash in an ocean of sweet little jammies for the neediest citizens in the Heart of Florida!  New jammies are arriving every day, thanks to you!  We heard from Lori White, The Book Lady, in Ocala, who is coming by to deliver her jammie donation!  Thanks also to the First Ladies of Florida Football, Shelley Meyer, Kathy Addazio and all the coaches’ wives, who dropped off over 80 pairs of new pajamas!  We will be picking up a huge box of new jammies from the fabulous kids and staff of Baby Gators next week!  We also heard more from the fabulous folks from the Sunshine Eagles FOE #4518!  The Eagles delivered a GIGANTIC basket of new children’s pajamas to us last week and they just called to tell us they have even more to drop off!  Thanks, Eagles!  We have also had many, many people who ordered new pajamas online from Wal-Mart and Target and had them delivered directly to our Gainesville studio.

There’s still time for YOU to get involved, either as an individual or as a group!  Appoint a Jammie Czar in your office, school or neighborhood and help us wrap the most vulnerable citizens in our area in new, warm, soft pajamas.  These children have never had something so simple and comforting as a new pair of pajamas.  They will go to bed tonight in whatever they have worn today.  We need thousands of pairs of new pajamas for children, from infants to 13 years old, which will be distributed in December in time for the coldest nights of the year.

Because we have received numerous requests to do so, we have extended the drop off deadline for the Storm & Chris Warm & Fuzzy Holiday Jammie Drive  until Monday, November 23rd and all donations of NEW children’s pajamas can be delivered to our Gainesville studios at 3600 NW 43rd Street, Suite B, Gainesville, FL 32606.

If you would like to tell us about your jammie drive or if you need more information, send us an email!

Jammie Drive Update

Please keep those new pajamas rolling in!  We are awash in an ocean of sweet little jammies for the neediest citizens in the Heart of Florida!  New jammies are arriving every day, thanks to you!  We just received a box of new children’s jammies from the wonderful people at Target Copy on University Avenue in Gainesville!  At Target Copy they wore their jammies to work every day and got their customers involved in the jammie drive!  Yesterday they delivered all the jammies to our Gainesville studios.  We also heard from the fabulous folks from the Sunshine Eagles FOE #4518!  The Eagles delivered a GIGANTIC basket of new children’s pajamas and they aren’t finished yet!  They tell us their jammie drive is still going strong – they just ran out of room for all the jammies they’ve collected so far!  Thanks, Eagles!  And read the wonderful email we just received from Ms. Hatch’s fabulous second grade class at Chiefland Elementary:

I am a second grade teacher at Chiefland Elementary School. My class has begun their Warm Fuzzy Jammie Drive at our school. The students presented the project information on our school morning show today to ask everyone in our school to help us collect donations of new pajamas. They also have decorated special boxes for our office and school that people can drop off their donations. In addition, they made posters advertising the event and placed them around our school. They are all very excited to be able to participate in this project to help other children. My students have been learning about wants and needs, providing to aid to people in need, and graphing with data for math. So, they will be graphing our results as we progress through the week collecting pajamas. We hope we are able to collect a large number of pajamas to deliver to your station.
